Bong Joon-ho

Bong is the most internationally recognised South Korean director of his generation and the first to win the Academy Award for Best Picture with a non-English-language film. His work moves between genres within single films — comedy into horror, satire into tragedy — and is consistently concerned with class, family, and the vertical organisation of society.

    Parasite review

A poor family infiltrates a rich household, and the film turns into something else entirely. The staircase motif is not decoration — it is the thesis.
