Cookie policy
Last updated: 2026-10-08
This page explains what cookies are, which ones appear when you visit AJ Movie Reviews, and how to control them. It is short because the site itself uses very few.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember something about your visit — a preference, a session, or whether you have seen a particular message. Some cookies are set by the site you are visiting; others are set by third parties whose content appears on the page.
What this site uses
AJ Movie Reviews is built as a static site. It has no user accounts, no login, no shopping basket and no newsletter signup, and every page is delivered as a plain HTML file. As a result the site itself sets no cookies of its own.
| Category | Set by | Purpose | Can you block it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | This site | None used. The site has no sessions, logins or stored preferences. | N/A |
| Analytics | This site | Aggregate, privacy-respecting page counts. No individual profiles, no cross-site tracking. | Yes |
| Advertising | Third-party ad networks | Display advertising. These networks may set cookies to limit repetition and measure delivery, subject to their own policies. | Yes |
Advertising cookies
Display advertising on this site is served by third-party networks. Those networks may set cookies when their ads load. We do not control those cookies and we do not share reader data with advertisers. Each network publishes its own cookie and privacy policy, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through your browser settings or through the industry opt-out tools operated by the network in question.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. The controls live in the privacy or security section of your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect your ability to read anything on this site.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Prevent cross-site tracking
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.
Do Not Track
We honour the Do Not Track signal where a browser sends one, and our own analytics are configured not to build individual profiles regardless.
Changes
If we add a feature that requires cookies — a newsletter, for example — we will update this page and the date at the top before it goes live.
