This page explains what we own, what you may do with it, and how to report a problem with anything published here.

What we own

All written content on AJ Movie Reviews — every review, ranked list, genre hub, director profile, video transcript and information page — is original work owned by AJ Movie Reviews and its named authors. It is protected by copyright from the moment it is published.

All poster artwork and illustrations on this site are generated by our own design system. They are original works and are likewise our property. We do not reproduce film stills, studio posters, or third-party photography anywhere on the site.

What you may do

  • Read, link to, and share any page for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Quote short passages — a sentence or two, or a short paragraph — in your own work, provided you attribute the quotation to AJ Movie Reviews and link to the page it came from.
  • Cite our transcripts with attribution and a link, including in academic work.
  • Reference our scores and rankings with clear attribution and a link to the source page.

What you may not do

  • Republish any article, review, transcript or list in full or in substantial part without written permission.
  • Use our content to train machine learning models without a written licence.
  • Scrape the site at a rate that degrades service for other readers.
  • Frame our pages so that our content appears to be part of another site.
  • Reproduce our poster artwork as standalone assets, or use it to represent a film.
  • Present our reviews or scores in a way that suggests endorsement of a product or service.

Third-party trademarks

Film titles, studio names, character names and related marks referenced on this site are the property of their respective owners. They are used for identification, commentary and criticism only. Their appearance here does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from the rights holders.

We do not host, link to, or facilitate access to unauthorised copies of any film. Every review on this site discusses a film as a work of criticism.

Reporting a copyright problem

If you believe something on this site infringes your rights, contact us with the following and we will investigate promptly:

  1. The exact URL of the material you are concerned about.
  2. Identification of the work you believe has been infringed.
  3. Your name, organisation and contact details.
  4. A statement of your good-faith belief that the use is not authorised.
  5. A statement that the information you have provided is accurate.

Send notices to copyright@ajmoviereviews.com. We acknowledge within three working days and act on substantiated claims immediately. If we have made a mistake, we will correct it and say so.

Our own images and complaints

Because our artwork is generated rather than sourced, the usual source of copyright complaints on review sites does not apply here. If you believe one of our generated images resembles an existing marketing asset too closely, tell us and we will regenerate it.
